Parents and prospective students are welcome to come and experience what makes Lancaster Royal Grammar School Sixth Form such a unique, supportive and vibrant place to learn, both in and out of the classroom.

LRGS is consistently placed amongst the top state schools in the country. In 2026, A-level students achieved top A and A* grades in more than 49% of all the exams that they sat.

Ofsted reported: “Leaders champion pupils’ whole development, not just their academic achievement” and awarded the category for Sixth Form as 'Strong'.

The Open Evening will provide visitors with an opportunity to visit the Sixth Form Centre, look around the school classrooms and meet the teachers and current students. There are 24 A-level courses to choose from and there will be plenty of people around to offer advice on subject combinations and future implications. Sixth Form guides will be on hand for you to quiz as you move around the school.

For families new to the school, there is no need to book, please come to the Grab and Go first to meet a Tour Guide. Our Prefects and staff will be on hand to point you in the right direction and there is a handout below to help.

There will be scheduled talks from Mr Allen Martin, Head of Sixth Form, Headmaster, Dr Pyle and some current Sixth Form pupils in the Assembly Hall.

Current LRGS Year 11 pupils are to attend at 5pm and go straight to the classrooms for the subjects they are interested in. Further information will be sent to students and parents directly via email.

There will be no parking available on site. Please be considerate to our neighbours and use the public car parks in town and walk up to school.
