Careers Visits

In the final two weeks of summer term, groups of Year 10 students took part in work experience visits.
Students were offered a variety of organisations to visit including; Lancaster City Council, University of Cumbria, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, OSG Law, Northstone Housing, Leyland Trucks, Forsberg Heysham and EDF Heysham.
Pupils were set preparatory work for their visits and then spent time reflecting on their visit afterwards in order to ensure a meaningful and memorable learning experience on their careers journey.
In the Michaelmas term we will stage the biennial Careers Fair event where we welcome exhibitors from colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers and employers to run a stand in the sports hall.
Pupils from all year groups are given access to the event and are provided with age-appropriate tasks to complete over the course of the event which encourage them to engage with the exhibitors so that they can become more informed about potential qualification routes and career pathways.
Organisations interested in attending the event can contact us here: careers@lrgs.org.uk
