Welcome to Lancaster Royal Grammar School
A selective, state grammar school for boys (day and boarding)
One of the UK's best state boarding schools, we offer affordable boarding to 200 of our pupils and have a thriving Sixth Form of 350. We challenge the brightest boys in the North West of England, along with boarders from further afield, to fulfil their potential.
Our aims are simple:
- to provide the highest standards of academic achievement and behaviour
- to instil a respect for knowledge and learning
- to foster a sense of community, in which each individual's contribution is valued
- to encourage respect for others, for moral values and above all, self respect
Our exam results are consistently high and we have a national reputation for sporting excellence. We are particularly proud of the warmth of the relationship between pupils and staff. I hope you will be inspired to come and see for yourself what makes LRGS special for all us of who work and study here. I look forward to meeting you.
