Such is the strength of the U13B team that LRGS fielded a mixture of B and C team players for their fixture with Giggleswick U13A team. Despite the team not having played together before, they put on a fine display and were comfortable winners against their game opponents. As usual the forwards proved just too powerful and dominated the ruck area, but they were also excellent with ball in hand and repeatedly attacked at pace around the fringes of the breakdown to carry the ball over the try line. Try scorers for the forwards included Adam Lee, Ahmed Ali, Michael Aderohunmu and Dillon Patel but special mention should go to Tom Reynolds (2 tries) and man of the match Lewis Mason (1 try) who were both playing their first games of the season and first ever at this level. Joel Ngute-Daniel produced several unselfish assist with superb offloads.
For the backs it was great to see several players start their first game of the season and Matej Stuchlik, Bryant Wong and Harry Billington both scored excellent tries. Matt Whittle was twice held up on the try line looking for his first score and Josh Akanji had an excellent game on the wing. Butler (2 tries), Gilliat and Feruzi all scored and looked at ease when asked to play different positions throughout the game.
