Following on from their fundraising success, pupils from Year 9 visited a local charity last week to lend a hand.
As part of a rewards trip for raising almost £3500 for Lenten charities, 9G spent last Friday morning volunteering at Unique Kidz and Co in Morecambe, one of the charities LRGS supported this year.
After a tour of the building and a talk about the reasons the charity was set up, boys did an activity on communication and how communicating effectively is one of the vital elements of caring with disabled children and young adults. The boys then threw themselves into some maintenance jobs around the grounds including washing the minibus and cleaning windows.
Speaking on behalf of his form, English teacher Mr Rafferty said: “Thanks to Jordan, Kimberley and all the staff at Unique Kidz and Co for accommodating us and for all the hard work they do for young people in our community.”
