Parliament Week

A series of events are taking place at Lancaster Royal Grammar School this week in aid of Parliament Week 2018.

So far, Lizzie Collinge, the County Councillor for Lancaster East and Cat Smith, Member of Parliament for Lancaster and Fleetwood, came into school to talk about their job role and to answer any questions the pupils had about the world of politics.  Their questions ranged from votes for under 16s, Brexit, trains, constituency lines and the role of women in politics.

On Wednesday, the Sixth Form Parliament Ambassadors hosted a mock party leaders televised event.

Still to come this week, Mark Garnett, the Senior Lecturer/Admissions Tutor for Politics and International Relations at Lancaster University will visit Sixth Form students to talk about future pathways of studying Politics at university.

Events will culminate with a mock election on Friday.

Thank you to all the visitors who have given up their time this week to support Parliament Week.
