Pupils have been celebrating diversity over the last two weeks culminating with a performace of music and drama in the Assembly Hall yesterday.
Last week the Dining Room produced dishes from around the world culminating with a spectacular rainbow cake on Friday. Teachers dressed for diversity by donning stripy coloured socks (and brightly coloured toenails from Mrs Introna). The English department have been watching clips from relevant films in form time and have studied the LGBT poet Carol Ann Duffy. Sixth Formers have been discussing racial and religious intolerance and have been leading the Arts Week activities this week.
During Arts Week, Year 8 pupils have been working with Sixth Formers on music, arts and drama related tasks. They have debated issues on diversity, produced theatrical scenes on ethnicity and celebrated multi-cultural music. They then performed infront of their peers and teachers in a concert in the Assemby Hall.
