Students talk about Sixth Form

Joseph Pritchard and Prakash Thanikachalam, this year's Head and Deputy Head of School, explain why they believe chosing Sixth Form at LRGS not only guarantees you a fantastic two years during your A-level studies - it sets you up for life.

"At LRGS Sixth Form, there is as much focus on academic success as there is on maintaining an enjoyable and stimulating environment for every student. We are proud to go to a school with such outstanding A-level results but we also benefit greatly from opportunities to take part in extra-curricular activities which help us to develop as individuals. No matter what your interests, passions or hobbies, you will always find like-minded people among the LRGS community.

The school has over 50 clubs and societies, from climbing club to the debating society - there's always something going on at lunchtime or after school.  There are more music ensembles and drama groups than you can count, so plenty of opportunities to show off your musical side as well!  As you walk past the rugby pitch, cricket square or athletics track, you can always see LRGS pupils making both themselves and our school proud.

LRGS is more than just a Sixth Form - it is a community. We all push each other to become better and in this competitive environment, we reach our best.  This is demanding but that’s what makes it worthwhile.  The teachers not only provide a brilliant education but they are all always willing to go that extra mile to help the students in whatever way they can. The staff are extremely approachable and care deeply for the wellbeing of the students at the school.  We all work together to ensure that everyone reaches their highest potential.

Without a doubt, choosing LRGS for Sixth Form was a great decision for both of us. It has given us a great preparation for life: an outstanding education, wonderful opportunities for personal development and enjoyment - and friends for life!"
