We are proud of the academic achievements of our Sixth Form students, which have always been consistently high. Whilst we offer a divers range of extra-curricular activities which enable our leavers to become well-rounded young men, we are also unashamedly academic and we strongly encourage all of our students to acheive the highest academic standards possible. We expect three-quartes of our A-level results to be at A or B grade and almost all of our leavers go on to university, many of them to the most competitive insitutions, including 10-12% to Oxford and Cambridge.
2009 results
This was another very successful year for A-levels, with the overall results just a whisker behind the record set in 2008. The statistics show that 51% of all grades achieved were grade A, with 77% gaining one of the top two grades A and B.
At the top end, 35 of the boys gained four A grades or better, and there was good news for the 18 boys holding Oxbridge offers. In a year in which university entry was particularly strongly contested, all but a handful of the boys were successful in confirming their places.
