LRGS art show is a family affair

No fewer than three generations of the same family were among those exhibiting their artwork at this year’s LRGS summer art exhibition.
Louis Bennett, a third year pupil at LRGS, displayed his work, along that of his Dad and Granddad. Louis produces oil paintings and collages inspired by magazines and pop ephemera and several of his works were on display. This is the first time he has shown his art in public, and this decision inspired his father Bruce Bennett and his grandfather Richard Bennett to join him.

Over 100 works were on display in the International building and included artwork by pupils, OLs, parents, grandparents, staff and governors. Head of Art at LRGS, Chris Bagnold said: “We were delighted to be able to celebrate the artistic achievements of the wider LRGS community of pupils, staff (past and present), parents and friends. The overall standard of work at the exhibition was very high and the event as a whole was very enriching.”

The exhibition was hosted by the Friends of LRGS and some of the works were for sale, with part of the proceeds going to the Friends.
