Table tennis is tops
Congratulations to the U19 and U13 LRGS table tennis teams, who, as champions, represented Lancashire recently at the NW Table Tennis Team Championships, against other area finalists.
The U19 team played Bishops’ Bluecoats Chester, Manchester Grammar School and Calday Grange West Kirkby, winning against the first two schools but losing to Calday Grange in the final.
The U13 team played against Wade Deacon Widnes, Formby High School, Adam’s Grammar School Shropshire and Manchester Grammar School, winning against the first three schools but losing to Manchester GS.
As runners up, the teams will go through to the ‘plate’ Zone finals at Grantham, Lincolnshire on 26 February.
The teams were: U19s: Ruaihdri Johnston (Captain), Krish Parekh, Alex Simmill and Nathan Wong
U13s: Nathan Beamer (Captain), Ben Hynes, Joe Collin and Will Humphries.
