Mayor and Mayoress go back to school
Today we welcomed our new InspirUS children, and we also had the company of two very special visitors; the Mayor and Mayoress of Lancaster. We learnt about the wonders of Space, discovering fascinating facts about planets, learning what huge 'googol' and 'googolplex' numbers are as well as learning 'The Planet Dance'.
Cllr Paul Woodruff and his wife Dee joined the children from Wray, Caton St Paul’s and Ryelands School during their first week of the 10-week InspirUS programme. They went to the outer reaches of space and back, joining in with painting and drawing, spelling, ‘powerful numbers’, the infinity symbol and a dance to remember the names of the planets.
Great fun was had by all and the children are very enthusiastic about the 9 weeks ahead; especially the possibility of a second appearance from the Mayor during the final week!
