Trophies for Beau
Sixth Form student Beau Smith picked up an array of trophies at the Triathlon England North West Region 2011 Awards recently.
During the course of the season, he was again unbeaten in the Junior age category, collecting titles for Duathlon, Aquathlon, Sprint Distance Triathlon and Standard (Olympic) Distance Triathlon, as well as the overall series win. He also won the overall Senior series, winning the Standard Distance Triathlon, and coming second in the Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathlon.
His focus this winter will be to build up his run endurance, to become stronger in the final discipline for next season, which will be his last in the Junior age category. He hopes that he will improve enough to be selected to race for GB in next year's Junior European Championships, and to contest some Junior European Cup events during the 2012 season.
