Swimming success in Scotland

Three LRGS pupils who swim with Carnforth Otters top training squad travelled to Scotland recently to compete in the Scottish National Championships.  All recorded personal best performances in the 100m Freestyle.  Sam Timpany narrowly missed reaching the final. Alasdair Fairhurst, having reached the final of the 100m Freestyle, finished fourth and Josh Thompson won a silver medal in a very close final.

This was a big competition for the boys, swimming in a 10-lane, 50m pool against some top quality competition - a great experience and an important part of their swimming development. Unfortunately, the boys were only able to compete in one event, as they had to travel back down to Liverpool and Manchester to compete in the Lancashire County Championships. It was worth the trip however, as they dominated the 50m and 100m Breaststroke events and brought back plenty of medals.
