Second Blue for Stu
OL Stuart Brown (2002-2009) has been selected to represent Cambridge University in the world renowned ‘Varsity Match’ on Thursday December 8th. One of rugby’s longest running feuds returns to Twickenham as Oxford take on the lighter shade of Cambridge blue in the 130th meeting of the academic powerhouses.
To step out at the home of rugby is something many young rugby players dream of; for our bulky young prop Stuart, this will be his third outing in as many years and will see him achieve his second consecutive Blue after playing in the U21 fixture in 2009. He will undoubtedly be desperate to make amends for the loss inflicted upon his Cambridge side in the tie last year.
All at LRGS send Stuart the best of luck in what can only be described as a phenomenal achievement. Being selected in such a prestigious event means Stuart joins a long list of all-time rugby greats and I’m sure he will do everybody proud!
Furthermore, OL Andrew Abraham (2003-2010) has been selected at fly-half for the Under 21 Varsity Match to kick off at 11am on the same day, also at Twickenham. To have two OLs representing is incredible for the school and we wish Andrew the best of luck and our congratulations.
Full report to follow after the exciting day at HQ.
