Sam swims to UK third place

Biathlete Sam Timpany (3L) competed in the North Lancashire swimming championship in Blackpool recently and won all nine of his age group events.  He also won the open age 50m breaststroke in 32.7 seconds, beating others of up to 19 years of age.  This time has ranked him an amazing third in the UK in his age group and overall, he is 14-year-old champion.

He also took part recently in the semi-finals of the Schools Biathlon Competition in Macclesfield, finishing fourth overall and qualifying for the national finals at Crystal Palace on 27 March.  He won the 100m freestyle swim in Macclesfield, despite being penalised 40 points for a slight movement on the blocks at the start.

Sam is unable to travel to Crystal Palace, as this event clashes with the Lancashire County Championships, which take place over two weekends in March and April.
