Time to reflect with HMC

We were joined for the day by 20 colleagues from other schools from across the North West for the Economics/Business Studies meeting of the Liverpool Group of HMC.

The Headmasters/Headmistresses Conference (HMC) is the umbrella organisation for the Heads of the UK's senior independent boys' schools, including those with co-educational Sixth Forms.  It is divided into regions, with those in the North West forming the Liverpool group.

On an annual basis, the heads of particular departments are hosted at one of the schools (on a rotating basis) to spend some time reflecting on aspects of curriculum, exam syllabuses, classroom practice, extra-curricular opportunity etc.  I have always considered this as wonderful development training - it is rare that time can be generated to focus solely on the subject and teaching it effectively.  Feedback from the delegates was very positive.  My thanks to Russell Wareing for organising such a successful event.
