Moving into Sixth Form
The Lower Sixth Open Evening was packed once again, and it was a pleasure to greet so many prospective Lower Sixth formers. It is quite a daunting ordeal to swap schools after GCSE. Some are at 11-16 schools and therefore having to make a change, but it was also impressive to talk to others who are looking positively at such a transfer for reasons of ambition or contrast.
In addition, quite a number were actively looking at a move into boarding, as a stepping stone towards great independence of living pre-university. For the right boys, this can be a hugely motivating experience.
