Michelin-standard Masterchef!
Tonight witnessed the inaugural LRGS staff Masterchef contest. Competition was fierce and the standards remarkably high. My thanks go to Cath Mossop for organising such a fun event, and to the judges for working their way through no less than 10 full three-course meals.
Congratulations to the winning team, 'Los Tres Amigos' - the main course of 'scallops, black pudding and crisp bacon with a wild porcini mushroom and chestnut sauce, infused with truffle oil and served with fondant potato' was Michelin standard.
Apologies to my two team mates who were let down by my flash-frying - there was a choice for the salmon, either dark brown or black!
We have some hugely talented colleagues (and governors too - with two commended entries). If we ever have to close down as a school, we should at least be able to open as a restaurant!
