Leading to serve
Speech Day - one of the special days in the school's calendar - saw the Ashton Hall full to overflowing. My congratulations to all the prizewinners, who gained some public recognition for all their efforts throughout the year. Plus it also provides me with an opportunity to draw attention to the many successes achieved in the last 12 months.
Our guest speaker Peter Ireland (OL), currently Dean of Education at the University of Buckingham, spoke memorably about his time at the school and the responsibilities that come with privilege. His theme was strongly echoed in a beautifully crafted response from the Head of School James Elliott on the community and leadership resonances that flow from Praesis ut Prosis. My thanks to them both for their observations and exhortations.
Of course, there is a huge amount of work which goes into an event such as this to make it all run smoothly, and therefore my thanks also to all of those whose efforts are largely unseen but hugely appreciated.
