Durham 2013 Report
The OLs went north for the first and only time this year with Grey College, Durham, the destination. There were two notable absentees in the form of OL President, Brian Ashton, and new Headmaster, Dr. Chris Pyle, who both sent their apologies.
Although numbers were slightly down on last year, the company made for a great evening’s entertainment. Without the President and the Head, formalities were kept to a minimum before Geoff Ellis said a few words on behalf of the OL Club before engaging those present in an interactive challenge. Jake Haddow (03-10) guessed most accurately Brian’s starting Lions XV and walked away from the evening with a bottle of Champagne as his reward.
A few OLs made the trip across from Newcastle to enjoy a night away, hopefully in future years more OLs from that way can be encouraged to attend!
