IT
IT is a subject that is constantly changing and this is no exception at LRGS. Pupils access resources, submit assignments, and have them marked, contribute to topic discussions via wikis and are tested with quizzes all via the school VLE.
The qualifications offered reflect the needs of boys in a Technology School. The British Computer Society's ECDL qualification is taken by all boys in the Lower School years. This provides a useful and practical qualification that is recognised world wide. In the Sixth Form, GCE Computing is offered at AS and A2, as well as Oracle Academy qualifications in database design and programming.

IT - Sixth Form
Students opting for Computing in the Sixth Form follow the AQA GCE Computing course.
As part of this, students study Java programming for the AS module. They sit an AS exam at the end of the Lower Sixth year which incudes a practical programming exam.
Students also study the Oracle Internet Academy Database Design and SQL Programming course. This course does not carry UCAS points but offers an Oracle Academy certificate on passing all tests and the end of year exam. The topics cover the database components of the A2 course and can help towards the A2 project.
